An Author Led Discussion Featuring Key Figures of the 415 Records Story
A new book, Disturbing the Peace: 415 Records and the Rise of New Wave, tells the story of the groundbreaking indie label 415 Records. The San Francisco label founded by Howie Klein and Chris Knab influenced other labels to follow, and it released era-defining singles, EPs and albums. This is a panel discussion led by author Bill Kopp and featuring key figures in the 415 Records story: Denise Sullivan (author, journalist and former 415 Records publicist), Kurt Herr (guitarist, Wire Train), John Thomas Griffith (guitarist, Red Rockers) and Dave Scheff (drummer and founding member, Translator). Also featuring gig poster display from the collection of Kareem Kaddah and slide show of photography by Trudy Fisher.
Books will be available for purchase at the event through the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library.
